A homeowner selling in Richmond and buying in Raleigh creates a Listing for the current home and a Quest for the next one, both on the same timeframe. One account, both sides of the move.

A property that isn't for sale yet

An owner expects to make a house available next year but is not ready to advertise it. They create a privacy-protected Listing, enter the expected availability, and see whether any Quests match.

A rental search built around a commute

A renter defines a Brooklyn search area by walking or biking time from work or a subway station, then adds a price range, bedroom needs, and a move-in timeframe.

What is HomeRustle?
HomeRustle is a residential real estate marketplace that brings both sides together. A buyer or renter creates a Quest describing what they are looking for. An owner creates a Listing describing a property they may want to sell or rent out. Buyers and renters search Listings, while owners search Quests, to find matches.
Who is it for?
HomeRustle is for people who want to buy or rent residential property and owners who may want to sell or rent out a property.
Does HomeRustle support both purchases and rentals?
Yes. Buyers and renters create Quests, and owners create sale or rental Listings. Purchases and rentals are both part of HomeRustle's core marketplace.
How is this different from listing portals?
Listing portals primarily organize properties that owners have already listed. HomeRustle organizes both what buyers and renters want and what owners may offer, then looks for overlap between Quests and Listings.
How do connections work?
Each side reviews its matches and chooses whether to express interest. When the interest is mutual, one person explicitly confirms the reveal — mutual interest alone does not open a connection. Once it is confirmed, both sides can communicate.
Who pays to open a connection?
Only the person who confirms the reveal. Their introductory reveal, their plan allowance, or a payment covers it, and the other side does not also pay or spend an allowance to open that same connection. Individual messages are never charged for.
Can I try HomeRustle for free?
Yes. Creating an account, posting Quests or Listings, exploring, and finding matches are all free, as is expressing interest. A new account may also be eligible for a one-time introductory reveal — a one-off offer, not a monthly free allowance. The Pricing page has the current figures and terms.
Do I have to talk to an AI assistant to create a Quest or Listing?
No. Russell, HomeRustle's assistant, is one way to create a Quest or Listing. Filling in the form yourself is an equally complete route, and you can switch between them.
Is the Explore map showing real properties?
No. Explore is a sample marketplace. Its Quests and Listings are illustrative sample data, not live demand or properties currently available.
Can I still hire an agent, attorney, or another professional?
Yes. HomeRustle users participate on their own behalf, but they remain free to independently hire an agent, attorney, lender, inspector, title provider, or another professional when they choose.
How does HomeRustle handle my data?
HomeRustle is designed to limit identifying information before a connection. More information and communication become available only as users choose to move forward. The Privacy Policy explains the current data practices in detail.
