Pricing

Free to look. Paid only to connect.

Creating an account, posting Quests and Listings, seeing your matches and expressing interest are all free. Money only enters the picture when two sides are mutually interested and one of them chooses to open the connection.

What is free, and what is not.

Always free

  • Creating a HomeRustle account.
  • Creating buyer or renter Quests.
  • Creating sale or rental Listings.
  • Seeing the matches on both sides.
  • Expressing interest in a match.
  • Browsing this website and the sample marketplace.

What you can pay for

  • A single reveal. A one-time amount that opens one mutually interested connection.
  • A role subscription. A recurring plan for your role that includes a set number of reveals each allowance period.

You are never charged without seeing and confirming the exact amount first, and a charge is never triggered by sending a message. Messages are not metered.

Where a charge can happen, step by step.

Six of these seven steps are free. Only the sixth can cost anything, and only for the person who takes it.

  1. 1

    Create a free account

Signing up costs nothing. The app's first step asks which side of the market you are on — buying, selling, renting, listing a rental, or more than one — and keeps that as your role.

  2. 2

Post a Quest or a Listing

Buyers and renters describe what they want in a Quest. Owners describe a property they may sell or rent out in a Listing. Posting is free, and you can do both from one account.

  3. 3

    See your matches

HomeRustle compares the criteria on both sides and shows you what matches. Searching and reviewing matches is free.

  4. 4

    Express interest

If a match looks promising, say so. Expressing interest is free, and it does not reveal who you are.

  5. 5

    Interest becomes mutual

Nothing opens up until the other side expresses interest too. Mutual interest is required before anyone can reveal anything.

  6. 6

    One person confirms the reveal

Mutual interest does not open a connection by itself. Someone has to explicitly confirm the reveal, and that confirmation shows the exact amount or benefit it will use before it is used.

  7. 7

    Both of you can communicate

Once the reveal is confirmed, both sides can talk. Only the person who confirmed spends anything — the other side does not pay and does not spend an allowance to open that same connection.

Current prices and allowances.

These figures come from HomeRustle's published catalog when you load this page, so this page cannot quote a price the app has stopped charging. Which allowance or amount applies to a particular reveal is always resolved in the app, on your own account, at the moment you confirm it.

Prices aren't available right now

HomeRustle's current prices aren't available right now, so we're not going to guess at them here. Which allowance or price applies to a particular reveal is worked out in the app when you confirm that reveal, and you are never charged without seeing and confirming the exact amount first.

Your own plan and balance.

This page describes what HomeRustle publishes to everyone. It deliberately says nothing about you: whether your introductory reveal is still available, how many reveals your plan has left this period, or what a particular connection would cost you are account facts, and they live in the app.

Your account page shows your current plan, your remaining allowance and your introductory-offer status.

Both open the app and require you to sign in.

How a subscription behaves.

A role subscription is a recurring plan. It renews on its own schedule and is billed whether or not you opened a connection during that period — a renewal is not triggered by a reveal, and an unused period is not automatically refunded.

The reveals a plan includes are an allowance for its allowance period. On an annual term the allowance still resets each period rather than arriving as one lump at the start of the year.

You can cancel or change a plan from your account in the app. Refund rules and any other payment terms are shown in the app before a charge, and are covered by the Terms of Service.

Start for free.

Create your account, then tell HomeRustle which side of the market you are on. Your answer becomes your role, and you can post a Quest, a Listing, or both.
